Platelets
Evy's platelets were low when we got to Dr. Horn's office today so she had a transfusion. Platelets help your blood clot. It is natural that they would be low after the long stretch of chemo she endured last week. We were told they were low at 10:30 am and that the 2 hour transfusion would commence at 1:30. A long day with two little monkeys. But now her platelets will be at a nice level for tomorrow's chemo put into her spine as well as a chemo "push" into her central line.

I couldn't read and not respond. I am
ReplyDeleteShahjehan on the Multiples parenting board from Mothering, and I read your blog regularly. I think about your sweet Evy very frequently, and how much life as you know it can change in an instant. I am amazed at your honesty, dedication and strength. I can't quite find the right words to say except that I am sending you all the positive intentions and energy I can, tomorrow and always.
Thanks, Shahjehan! So sweet.
ReplyDeleteI, too, am another twin mom from the Mothering board (although I've never posted there--just a lurker). Your family and sweet Evy have been in my thoughts and prayers, and I hope you feel the support of so many people out here who don't know you personally. I admire your strength (however, I'm sure at times you want to crumble), and it is evident that Evy and Stella are 2 lucky baby girls to have you as their mom (and dad--can't forget him, either!). -- Juliet, Tucson, AZ
